  • Self-marketing plans
  • Job seeking strategies including use of social media (e.g. LinkedIn)
  • Job search counseling

Disability Services serves as Thomas University’s entry-point into advocacy for all students with disabilities and provide students with tools enabling them to succeed in both online and classroom classes.

Through collaboration with individualstudents and faculty we will develop strategies to enhance their courses in order to provide better accessibility for all students.  It also supports students by providing individual accommodations and seeking creative ways to enhance learning and success.

Disability Services maintains a student outreach page in all students’ Canvas dashboards called ADA Connect that provides information on accommodations, diagnosis, and accessible technology, and announces Disability Awareness disability awareness activities, programming, and speakers, as well as links to contact, make an appointment with, or request accommodations from Disability Services.

Wellbeing and Counseling Services for TU Students

Students who may be experiencing wellness or mental health difficulties may access counseling support in the following ways:

  1. On-Campus Resident Students in need of support are encouraged to use their TU-provided FlexCare medical and mental health membership. FlexCare telehealth doctors and therapists are available 24/7. They have unlimited no-cost medical doctor visits, unlimited mental health appointments (they can stay with the same counselor for these services over any period of time), and three psychologist and/or psychiatrist appointments per academic year. This is a terrific benefit. We distribute membership cards to our on-campus populations. We encourage our on-campus students to register (it's simple) so they can access the services without delay when they need them. They are already in the FlexCare system. For questions, FlexCare member services may be reached at: 866-697-8212.

  2. Online Students in need of counseling support are encouraged to use the Student Assistance Program (SAP) of Archbold Health.  This program provides our online students with free and confidential counseling services through the hospital’s telehealth unit. The services are provided to students free of charge and are used on a confidential basis. The program provides: assessment and counseling services, confidential referral services, and addiction counseling services. The Archbold Student Assistance Program can be accessed by calling 229-228-2210.

If you are in immediate crisis, please contact the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline services.  Any student in crisis should call 988 or go to their website where trained crisis counselors are available 24/7. They will help with referrals to local agencies as well.
